Galatasaray crush Ümraniyespor in one-sided friendly
Ümraniyespor made a bright start at home and caught Galatasaray off guard when M. Eser fired them ahead in the 12th minute. The early goal gave the hosts genuine hope of making this a competitive encounter, and their supporters sensed an upset might be possible. That optimism proved premature.
Galatasaray responded with ruthless efficiency. A. Yüzgeç levelled matters in the 35th minute, and just seven minutes later K. Karataş put the visitors ahead as their attacking rhythm found its groove. The away side had seized control of the match, and Ümraniyespor's brief moment in the sun faded as the first half wore on. By the interval, the visitors had established clear superiority.
The second half was a procession. C. Güner extended Galatasaray's advantage in the 60th minute, and M. B. Luş added the fifth just two minutes later to put the result beyond any doubt. Ümraniyespor offered little resistance as the gulf in quality became increasingly apparent. The home side chased shadows for long stretches, unable to muster any serious threat to trouble their visitors' defence.
The 5-1 victory represented a dominant display from Galatasaray ahead of the new season. While friendlies carry limited weight, the performance will have pleased their coaching staff as the squad builds fitness and understanding. For Ümraniyespor, the heavy defeat served as a sobering reminder of the quality gap in Turkish football, though they will hope to bounce back in their remaining warm-up fixtures.
