Coffey Double Rescues Hartford in Thrilling Draw
Hartford Athletic and Orange County SC served up an engaging encounter at Trinity Health Stadium, with both sides eager to claim the points. The home crowd was treated to a match that swung back and forth, keeping them engaged throughout a humid evening in Connecticut.
Orange County struck first when S. Kelly found the back of the net in the ninth minute, putting the visitors ahead early. The goal seemed to spark Orange County into life, and they doubled their advantage just eight minutes later through O. Sylla to leave Hartford with plenty of work to do. Despite the two-goal deficit, the home side refused to buckle and began carving out chances as the first half progressed.
The turning point came in the second half when B. Coffey pulled one back in the 69th minute, giving Hartford renewed hope and breathing life back into their performance. Coffey then completed his brace in the 85th minute, levelling the match at 2-2 and sparking wild celebrations among the home support. Orange County saw N. Ciotta and C. Hegardt both cautioned during the contest, with the yellow cards reflecting the intensity of the encounter.
Hartford's comeback marked a significant shift in momentum and will give them genuine confidence heading into their next fixture. The draw leaves both sides with work to do if they are to climb the standings, though Hartford will be pleased with their character in clawing back from such a difficult position. Orange County will rue their failure to see out a strong start, while Hartford showed the fighting spirit needed to compete at this level.
