La brillante actuación de Saka le da la victoria a Inglaterra sobre Francia en un emocionante partido por el tercer puesto.

The Stade de France was alive with tension as these two heavyweights clashed for bronze on a sweltering July afternoon. England arrived in Paris as underdogs but came out swinging, and it took just three minutes for Declan Rice to put them ahead. The early breakthrough set the tone for an explosive opening period, and when Ezri Konsa added a second after 18 minutes, France faced an unexpected crisis.

England's aggressive start nearly overwhelmed their hosts, but France gradually found their rhythm. Bukayo Saka looked menacing down the right flank, and he extended England's lead to 3-0 before half-time with a clinical finish at the 37-minute mark. The advantage looked commanding as the teams went in at the break, yet the script flipped dramatically after the interval. Kylian Mbappé halved the deficit within minutes of the restart, scoring in the 48th minute to spark French momentum. Sergio Barcola made it 3-2 just six minutes later, and suddenly England's comfortable position had evaporated.

The second half became a relentless back-and-forth affair. Mbappé struck again in the 66th minute to level matters, and the match hung in the balance as both sides pressed for a winner. Saka restored England's lead with a fourth goal at the 45-minute mark of the second half, but France refused to surrender. Ousmane Dembélé pulled one back in the 90th minute to set up a frantic finish, yet England held firm when it mattered most. In the closing stages, Saka sealed the contest from the penalty spot at the 87th minute, giving England a 6-4 victory after seven minutes of stoppage time.

England's third-place finish represents a significant achievement, sending them home with a medal despite falling short in the semi-finals. Saka's hat-trick, including his crucial penalty conversion, proved the difference on a night when both teams entertained a packed crowd with attacking football. For France, the defeat stings after coming so close to securing the bronze, but they too can take pride in a tournament that demanded everything from their squad. The two nations head home knowing they've given their supporters plenty to remember from what was undoubtedly the most thrilling match of the third-place playoff.
