La Roche Vendée surprend Le Mans avec une victoire à l'extérieur

Le Mans started brightly and broke the deadlock inside eleven minutes when D. Gueye found the net to spark early optimism at home. That advantage proved short-lived as La Roche Vendée equalized just seven minutes later through an unnamed goalscorer, then immediately took the lead when M. Samb struck in the 19th minute. The visitors had turned the match on its head within a remarkable spell of attacking football that left Le Mans struggling to respond.

The away side extended their control before the interval when Samb bagged his second goal just before the whistle blew for half-time. Le Mans found themselves chasing the game at 2-3 down, needing to overturn the deficit in the second half if they were to salvage anything from the contest. La Roche Vendée had been clinical in their finishing despite arriving as the underdogs, and their defense looked compact when called upon.

Le Mans did pull one back in the 62nd minute through L. Mafouta, narrowing the gap to just one goal and setting up a tense finale. Despite their pressure in search of an equalizer, the home side could not find the breakthrough they desperately needed. La Roche Vendée stood firm and managed the closing stages professionally to preserve their lead.

The visitors depart with a valuable away win that demonstrated their quality against a Le Mans side that started strongly but lacked the consistency needed to see out the match. For Le Mans, the defeat serves as a reminder that intensity over ninety minutes remains non-negotiable at this level. Both teams will take lessons from a friendly that produced genuine attacking football and no shortage of goalmouth action.
