Wisła and Brno Share Spoils in Friendly Stalemate
Wisła Kraków hosted SK Artis Brno on a warm July afternoon in what proved to be an engaging friendly encounter between the two sides. The home crowd at the Stadion Miejski im. Henryka Reymana settled in for what would become a match full of attacking football and little respite for either defence. Both teams came into the fixture looking to build momentum ahead of their respective league campaigns, and their intent was clear from the opening exchanges.
The breakthrough came in the second half when SK Artis Brno struck first through D. Šimek in the 50th minute, giving the visitors an unexpected lead. The goal sparked a flurry of activity as yellow cards began to accumulate, with I. Fomba cautioned for Brno and R. Giger receiving a booking for the hosts in that same eventful period around the half-hour mark. Despite falling behind, Wisła showed character and determination to fight their way back into the contest.
The hosts mounted a sustained response to Brno's early second-half advantage, pushing forward in search of an equaliser. Wisła's attacking players created problems for the visiting defence with their movement and energy, and they eventually managed to level the score before adding another goal to take what appeared to be the lead. However, Brno refused to lie down and proved their own resilience by fighting back to restore parity at 2-2.
The match finished all square, a fair reflection of two evenly matched sides on the day. Both Wisła and Brno will take positives from their performances, with each team demonstrating attacking capability and the ability to respond when faced with setbacks. As a pre-season fixture, the draw serves both sides well in their preparations for the campaign ahead, giving their respective managers a chance to assess squad depth and tactical options.
