Bohemians Secure Comfortable Win at Zagłębie

Zagłębie Lubin played host to Bohemians Praha 1905 on a warm July afternoon in what proved to be a one-sided friendly clash. The Polish side created chances early on but found themselves unable to break down a resolute visiting defence. Bohemians, by contrast, looked sharp and purposeful from the outset, settling quickly into their rhythm and creating problems down the flanks.

The breakthrough came in the 38th minute when V. Smrz fired Bohemians ahead with a well-taken finish that left the home supporters deflated. Rather than chase the game before the interval, Zagłębie continued to struggle in attack. Bohemians capitalized on this lack of penetration when L. Almási doubled the visitors' advantage just before half-time with a goal in the 45th minute, effectively settling the contest before the teams returned to the dressing room.

The second half saw Bohemians manage the game with confidence while Zagłębie pressed for a way back into the match. However, clear openings remained frustratingly hard to come by for the hosts. The match grew increasingly scrappy as the hour mark approached, with both sides losing their shape somewhat. A turning point arrived when Smrz received a red card in the 85th minute, reducing Bohemians to ten men and handing Zagłębie a numerical advantage late on.

Despite the man advantage, Zagłębie could not find the cutting edge needed to reduce the deficit. Bohemians held firm through the final stages to secure a comfortable 2-0 victory on the road. The result represented a solid performance from the Czech outfit on tour, while Zagłębie will view the friendly as a learning exercise ahead of the new season.
