Bogotá FC Stun Pasto with Away Victory in Copa Colombia

Deportivo Pasto hosted Bogotá FC on 22 July 2026 in a Copa Colombia first round clash that promised intensity from the outset. The home side came into the match with ambitions of a strong start, but they would face a well-organised visiting team determined to make an impression. The atmosphere at Pasto's stadium carried the customary passion of Colombian football, yet it would be the visitors who left with the spoils.

The decisive moment came during the 90 minutes when Bogotá FC broke the deadlock to take a 1-0 lead. Despite their efforts to overturn the deficit, Pasto could find no way through a resilient Bogotá defence. The away side's organisation proved the difference as they controlled the tempo in the closing stages and saw out the win comfortably.

Pasto dominated possession for large stretches but lacked the cutting edge needed to breach Bogotá's well-drilled backline. The home team created chances without converting them, while Bogotá made their opportunity count with clinical finishing. Bogotá's defensive discipline frustrated Pasto's attacking play throughout the contest.

The result hands Bogotá FC an important away victory as they progress in the Copa Colombia, while Pasto must regroup and respond in their next fixture. For a first round encounter, this proved a significant result for the visitors, who showed they could grind out results on unfamiliar ground. Both sides will now turn their attention to their upcoming matches with valuable lessons learned.
