أطلق بريتين وزيفويك النار على فورتونا لتحقيق النصر الحاسم.

Fortuna Sittard came out with intent from the first whistle and made it count inside six minutes when P. Brittijn found the net to give the home side an early advantage. The visitors offered little resistance in the opening quarter, and Fortuna doubled their lead just nine minutes later through L. Zeefuik to put themselves in complete control at the Fortuna Sittard Stadion.

SC Cambuur pulled one back in the 22nd minute when R. E. Arguioui got on the scoresheet, briefly suggesting a potential comeback. That hope proved misplaced. Fortuna managed the game effectively after going two goals up, and Cambuur's discipline began to fray as the match wore on, with L. Jetten and N. Souren both receiving yellow cards in the second half for the away side.

The visitors never seriously threatened to overturn the deficit despite their earlier goal. Fortuna controlled possession and territory for large stretches, frustrating Cambuur's attempts to build momentum. S. '. Zand wrapped up a convincing performance with a third goal in the 90th minute, sealing a dominant display from the home team.

This victory gives Fortuna Sittard a perfect start to their Eredivisie campaign with three points on the board. For Cambuur, the road trip proved costly, and they will need to regroup quickly ahead of their next fixture.
