Dario Joveljić put Seattle ahead in the 12th minute with Sergio Gomez providing the assist. Chicago equalised through Mauricio Haile-Selassie in the 38th minute, with Robert Lewandowski setting up the chance.
Seattle retook the lead early in the second half when Joveljić scored again in the 48th minute, assisted by Alexander Rusnák. Chicago levelled once more when Lewandowski finished in the 82nd minute after a pass from Pape Dithejane. The match finished Seattle Sounders FC 2-2 Chicago Fire after four minutes of stoppage time.
