Toronto FC and Chicago Fire share eight-goal thriller
Chicago Fire went ahead through M. Haile-Selassie in the 13th minute. Toronto FC levelled when J. Sargent scored in the 27th minute with Đ. Mihailović providing the assist. Sargent added a second just before the break in the 38th minute to put Toronto ahead.
The home side extended their lead early in the second half when W. Zimmerman put through his own goal in the 49th minute. Sargent completed his hat-trick four minutes later, assisted again by Mihailović, to make it 4-1 to Toronto.
Chicago Fire pulled one back through Haile-Selassie in the 58th minute, with R. Lewandowski providing the assist. Lewandowski then scored himself in the 63rd minute, assisted by P. Zinckernagel, to close the gap further. Late drama came in the 90th minute when D. Etienne scored for Toronto with D. Sallói providing the assist, but this proved only to be the prelude to Chicago's continued comeback. The sides shared a 4-4 draw after seven minutes of stoppage time were added.
