Estudiantes stun Corinthians with late away winner

Corinthians and Estudiantes de La Plata played out a tight quarter-final tie that remained goalless until late in the second half. B. Bidon picked up a yellow card for the hosts in the fourth minute, while Estudiantes defender T. Palacios was cautioned in the 41st minute and L. G. Pírez in the 45th.

The decisive moment came in the 87th minute when A. Castro broke the deadlock, assisted by T. Palacios, to give Estudiantes de La Plata a 0-1 lead. Corinthians pushed for an equaliser in the remaining time, but could not find a way through. R. Garro was booked for the hosts in the 90th minute as Corinthians' frustration grew. Seven minutes of stoppage time were added, but Estudiantes held on to seal a 0-1 away victory.
