Santos and Chapecoense share spoils in entertaining draw

The humidity hung thick over Santos' home ground as two ambitious sides set out to make their mark in the middle of the Serie A season. Santos controlled large periods of possession but found Chapecoense's defensive shape difficult to break down, while the away side remained dangerous on the counter-attack despite being under pressure. The draw leaves both sides with work to do if they harbour ambitions of making a genuine push towards the business end of the season. Santos will rue the chances they created but failed to convert, particularly given Neymar's presence in the side.
