Kansas City demolishes LAFC at home in five-goal thriller
Sporting Kansas City took the lead in the 18th minute when André Luiz opened the scoring with an assist from J. Reynolds. Los Angeles FC's S. Palencia was shown a yellow card in the 19th minute as the hosts pressed their advantage.
T. Calheira extended the lead to 2-0 in the 31st minute, and Sporting Kansas City went into half-time well ahead despite K. Agyabeng picking up a yellow card in the 44th minute.
Los Angeles FC pulled one back early in the second half through D. Bouanga in the 47th minute, assisted by J. Shaffelburg. The goal gave the visitors brief hope, but Sporting Kansas City restored their two-goal margin when J. Bartlett scored in the 71st minute.
Late yellows for Y. Cheberko and C. Harris in the 80th and 82nd minutes did not affect the outcome. Sporting Kansas City won 3-1 over Los Angeles FC.
