O Albion atropelou o Shrewsbury em uma exibição dominante e amigável.

West Bromwich Albion made a statement in their pre-season preparations with a convincing away victory at Shrewsbury Town on a warm July afternoon. The visitors seized control early and dictated proceedings throughout, leaving the home crowd with little to celebrate despite a spirited effort from the hosts.

Albion struck first through H. Whitwell in the 17th minute, establishing an attacking tempo that Shrewsbury struggled to match. The away side doubled their advantage just nine minutes later when J. Morgan notched his first of the afternoon. Shrewsbury pulled one back through I. Fletcher's effort in the 35th minute, giving the hosts a glimmer of hope before the interval. Morgan added his second goal right on the stroke of half-time, however, extending Albion's lead to 1-3 at the break and effectively settling the contest.

The second half saw West Bromwich Albion maintain their superiority, with A. S. Heggebø adding a fourth in the 78th minute to compound Shrewsbury's misery. Both teams picked up bookings during the match, though neither side could claim to have controlled the tempo after the interval. Shrewsbury offered resistance in patches but never truly threatened to make a comeback against a slick Albion outfit.

The final score of Shrewsbury Town 1-4 West Bromwich Albion reflected the gulf in class on the day. Albion's clinical finishing and composed play will serve them well as they continue their pre-season campaign, while Shrewsbury will need to show significant improvement as they look to build momentum before the competitive season begins.
