Atert Bissen and RFC Liège Share Spoils in Friendly Draw
Atert Bissen made the brighter start at home and took an early lead through an unnamed striker in the second minute. The hosts looked to build on that advantage and push for a comfortable afternoon, but RFC Liège showed their visiting credentials by keeping the match competitive throughout the opening period. The Belgian side gradually worked their way into the contest and began to create chances of their own as the first half progressed.
The away side found their breakthrough in the 63rd minute when their goal scorer levelled the match with a well-taken finish. That strike sparked a change in momentum, and RFC Liège began to press forward with renewed intensity. Atert Bissen had to reorganise their approach to deal with the threat posed by their visitors during the final stages of the match.
The closing exchanges saw both teams committed to finding a winner, yet neither could break the deadlock. Chances came and went for both sides as they searched for a second goal, but the defences held firm. The final whistle brought an end to a keenly contested encounter that neither side could quite edge.
The 1-1 draw means both teams will head into their next fixtures on the back of draws. For Atert Bissen, the result was a missed opportunity to make a winning impression at home. RFC Liège, meanwhile, will be pleased with their ability to come from behind and earn a point on the road, though both camps will perhaps feel they could have done more to secure all three points.
