Montreal y DC United se enfrentan al empate

CF Montréal and DC United served up a competitive MLS clash that neither team could decisively win. Both sides created opportunities throughout the afternoon, but the final quarter proved crucial in determining how the points would be split.

Penalty duties fell to CF Montréal first when P. Owusu stepped up in the 50th minute and converted from the spot to put the home side ahead. The lead lasted just 16 minutes. T. Baribo levelled for DC United in the 66th minute, restoring parity and setting up a tense finale that neither team could break through. Disciplinary issues punctuated the contest, with yellow cards issued to J. Hopkins of DC United in the 19th minute, K. Kurokawa also of DC United in the 49th minute, and L. Petrasso of CF Montréal in the 63rd minute.

DC United's equaliser shifted the momentum noticeably in their favour, yet CF Montréal refused to capitulate entirely. The home side pressed for a winner as stoppage time approached, but six additional minutes failed to produce the breakthrough either team desperately sought. Both keepers made crucial interventions to deny late chances that could have altered the outcome.

The draw leaves both teams searching for victory in their next fixture. CF Montréal's penalty conversion proved insufficient to secure three points at home, while DC United's resilience on the road ensured they departed with something to show for their efforts. Neither side can take much satisfaction from CF Montréal 1-1 DC United, but both will view the point as a foundation to build from.
