Ajax y Heerenveen comparten el gol en el dramático primer partido de la Eredivisie

AFC Ajax began their Eredivisie campaign with genuine attacking intent, but an early defensive howler handed SC Heerenveen an unlikely lead. Barely seven minutes had elapsed when a calamitous own goal from B. Klaverboer gifted the visitors the opening, a moment of sheer misfortune that could have derailed the home side's afternoon. Instead of capitulating, Ajax responded with purpose and found the equaliser through A. Ouazane in the 33rd minute, restoring parity just before the interval.

The second half erupted into a see-saw affair. J. Trenskow restored Heerenveen's advantage just before half time ended with a 1-1 scoreline, firing the away team in front at the restart. Yellow cards began accumulating as the match grew scrappy, with Trenskow himself cautioned in the 51st minute, followed by bookings for Ajax's Y. Regeer and A. Bouwman. Heerenveen threatened to claim a first away victory, but M. Rivera's 82nd-minute strike, which appeared to seal it for the visitors, proved premature.

What looked like three points slipping away from Ajax transformed into redemption. The hosts clawed back once more to haul themselves level and force an end to proceedings at AFC Ajax 2-2 SC Heerenveen. Determination and resilience characterised both teams' approach, though neither could find the cutting edge to claim all three points.

This stalemate leaves Ajax with work to do as they seek to rebuild their title credentials, while Heerenveen, despite playing on the road, will reflect on how they failed to convert dominance into a meaningful victory. Both sides showed fight and attacking ambition, but the shared spoils mean both teams must look for improvement as the season progresses.
