Philadelphia Union a stupéfié New York City avec une victoire en remontée à l’extérieur

New York City FC started with brutal efficiency, converting two penalties in the opening 45 minutes to establish complete control. Ballou Traore broke the deadlock from the spot in the fourth minute, and Luighi doubled the advantage from 12 yards out just before half-time. The home side's penalty success seemed to have set the tone for a comfortable evening, yet Philadelphia Union had other ideas brewing in their minds.

The away side emerged with renewed purpose after the interval. Denis Jean Jacques pulled one back three minutes into the second half to spark life into the visitors, but the real turning point came through Damiani's clinical finishing. His first goal arrived in the 69th minute, leveling the match at 2-2, before he completed his brace just six minutes later to flip the scoreline entirely. Suddenly, New York City FC found themselves chasing the game they had controlled so thoroughly.

Despite the hosts' attempts to find an equalizer, Philadelphia Union held firm through mounting pressure. Yellow cards flew in the second half, with both sides showing signs of frustration as the match became increasingly fractured. The Union's defensive discipline in the closing stages proved crucial, shutting down any meaningful New York City FC response after Damiani's decisive strike.

The 2-3 defeat marked a sobering collapse for the hosts, who squandered a commanding position through two penalty conversions. For Philadelphia Union, the away victory represented a stunning turnaround, showcasing their ability to recover from adversity and deliver when it mattered most. Damiani's performance will linger longest in the memory, a reminder that leads mean nothing without the discipline to defend them.
