Dallas supera a Austin en un emocionante derby de Texas

Austin FC and FC Dallas served up an entertaining contest that swung in momentum several times across the 90 minutes. The home side started with clear intent but found themselves behind before the interval when Laye Abubakar broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time, catching Austin off guard just as the teams headed toward the tunnel.

The second half opened with Austin pressing hard for an equalizer, and their persistence paid off in the 57th minute when Emiliano Torres pulled the hosts level. For a brief window it appeared the momentum had shifted decisively in Austin's favor, with the crowd sensing a comeback. That hope evaporated just as quickly when Paxton Musa restored Dallas's lead in the 73rd minute, a goal that ultimately proved decisive in a match where neither team could find a way through again despite ten minutes of added time.

Disciplinary issues punctuated the contest throughout, with seven yellow cards distributed across both sides. FC Dallas's J. Valiente and B. Kamungo picked up cautions as the visitors worked to control Austin's attacking ambitions, while the hosts saw red shown to M. Đorđević, O. Svatok, and M. Uzuni during their unsuccessful push for a leveler. Ramiro's early yellow for Dallas and the subsequent cards indicated a match where both teams were operating on edge.

For FC Dallas, the away win represents a significant statement in the competition, demonstrating their ability to win on hostile ground against a rival. Austin FC, despite their second-half improvements and the equalizer, could not find the clinical finishing needed to claim anything from the match and will look to bounce back quickly against their next opponents.
