Chicago Fire garde son sang-froid pour la victoire à l’extérieur à Orlando

Chicago Fire made the perfect start at the Citrus Bowl, striking in the fourth minute when Przemyslaw Dithejane broke the deadlock early. Orlando City SC spent the opening period chasing the game but struggled to create clear chances against a disciplined visiting defence. The hosts would have to wait until the second half to find their rhythm, while the Fire sat comfortably with their lead intact through the first 45 minutes.

Daryl Brekalo hauled Orlando level in the 52nd minute, breathing fresh life into a home crowd that had grown frustrated with their team's first-half performance. The momentum appeared to be shifting toward the hosts, who pushed forward in search of a winner. But Chicago Fire quickly reasserted control, and in the 69th minute Robert Lewandowski converted from the penalty spot to restore the visitors' advantage at 1-2.

Disciplinary issues began to mount as the match wore on, with yellow cards shown to L. Otavio and R. Jansson for Orlando, while V. Radojevic and S. Rogers saw cautions in the Chicago ranks. Orlando pressed harder in the final stages, sensing an opportunity to rescue something from the contest during six added minutes. The Fire's defence held firm when it mattered most, absorbing the late pressure without buckle.

Chicago Fire's away victory keeps their season moving forward with three points secured on the road. For Orlando City SC, the loss stung all the more given how close they came to salvaging a result, but the penalty concession proved costly at a crucial moment. The Fire will travel home satisfied with a professional performance under pressure, while the hosts must regroup and rediscover their form in front of their own supporters.
