Union e Inter Miami luchan hasta un empate entretenido

Philadelphia Union and Inter Miami CF served up an open, attacking match that left little to separate them over 90 minutes. The hosts struck first through Ivan Vassilev in the 11th minute, but Inter Miami responded swiftly with goals from Damian Pinter and Lionel Messi within five minutes to turn the game on its head. What had looked like a comfortable opening for the Union became a genuine contest, with the away side's counter-attacking prowess on full display.

Messi's intervention proved crucial in those opening exchanges, but Philadelphia refused to fold. Nicolas Pierre levelled the match in the 58th minute to drag his side back into contention when they appeared to be losing control of proceedings. The goal shifted momentum, and the Union pressed hard for a winner in the closing stages while Inter Miami looked increasingly focused on holding what they had.

Discipline became an issue as the match wore on. Kevin Wagner picked up a yellow card for the hosts in the 43rd minute, before Sergio Reguilón and Iván Fray both saw yellow for Inter Miami, the latter's caution coming in the 55th minute as tempers threatened to fray. Despite the intensity, neither side managed to find a decisive goal, and Philadelphia Union 2-2 Inter Miami CF remained the final score.

The result leaves both teams level on points in the standings, though each will harbour regrets about chances to claim all three. Philadelphia had the momentum at the close but could not convert it into a winner. For Inter Miami, a draw on the road represents a useful point, though they will reflect on how they squandered what looked like a commanding position after Messi's early contribution.
