هدف نيغري في الشوط الأول منح هيوستن الفوز خارج أرضه

Houston Dynamo produced a composed away performance to silence Vancouver at BC Place on Wednesday night, taking the three points with a single, well-taken goal. The visitors controlled proceedings for large stretches and looked comfortable defending their lead once Negri had broken the deadlock early in the second half. Vancouver offered resistance but lacked the creative spark needed to trouble a Houston side that was content to be efficient rather than elaborate.

Negri struck in the 34th minute to separate the teams. The Houston forward finished cleanly after Vancouver's defence had failed to clear their lines, handing the visitors a lead they would not relinquish. The Whitecaps had offered little going forward in the opening half and fell behind without having truly tested Houston's goalkeeper.

Vancouver pressed harder after the interval, with A. Cubas having already picked up a yellow card in the 26th minute. Houston tightened their grip defensively as the game wore on, though tempers flared with both A. Resch and A. Bouzat receiving cautions for Houston by the 41st minute. The home side's frustration grew as chances remained elusive, and despite pushing numbers forward in the closing stages, they could not find an equaliser.

The defeat leaves Vancouver searching for answers at home, where they failed to muster the attacking intent needed against a visiting side that earned a hard-fought victory on the road. Houston's solidity in defence and clinical finishing in attack secured all three points, a result that suggests their away form is a genuine strength this season.
