El gol en propia puerta de Ebobisse le da la victoria a Colorado Rapids

Colorado Rapids broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute when Los Angeles FC defender J. Ebobisse turned the ball into his own net, handing the home side a 1-0 lead they would not relinquish. The early goal set the tone for a match that remained tightly contested throughout, with both sides competing hard but neither able to find a clear rhythm in the opening stages.

Los Angeles FC struggled to respond to the setback and found themselves under constant pressure from a Colorado Rapids side energised by their good fortune. Yellow cards accumulated early, with Y. Cheberko cautioned for the visitors in the 20th minute, just before the own goal, and the disciplinary count continued to mount as the match progressed. E. Segura and N. Tafari both received bookings for LAFC as frustration grew, while Colorado Rapids' Y. Maziz was carded in the 32nd minute.

The second half saw Los Angeles FC push harder to find an equaliser, but Colorado Rapids defended resolutely to keep their advantage intact. D. Yapi picked up a yellow card for the home side in the 56th minute as the match became increasingly scrappy. K. Thompson was cautioned late on in the 88th minute, by which point the outcome was already secure. Eight minutes of stoppage time did little to change the narrative.

Colorado Rapids secured all three points through an unlikely route, but the result gives them a significant boost in their push for playoff position. For Los Angeles FC, the defeat on the road is a frustrating one, particularly given that they were undone by their own carelessness rather than being outplayed. Both teams will look to respond in their next fixtures, though momentum now lies firmly with the Rapids.
