هافيرتز، ساكا وأوديغارد يغرقون كوفنتري في عرض مهيمنة لأرسنال

Arsenal made a convincing statement of intent in their Premier League opener, brushing aside Coventry City with a professional 3-0 home victory. The Gunners controlled possession from the outset and translated that dominance into an early goal, setting the tone for what would become a one-sided affair at the Emirates.

Havertz broke the deadlock in the 15th minute, giving Arsenal an early foothold. Saka doubled the advantage just eight minutes later with a composed finish that left Coventry's defence searching for answers. The away side offered little resistance in the opening period, and by half-time they faced an uphill task at 2-0 down. Ødegaard put the result beyond doubt after the restart, adding a third goal in the 49th minute to render the closing 40 minutes little more than a formality.

The second half proved to be a procession. Arsenal's front three had already dismantled Coventry's backline before the interval, and Ødegaard's early strike in the second period effectively settled matters. With the result secured, the hosts managed the game without fuss, content to control proceedings rather than chase further goals.

Coventry never truly threatened to spark a comeback. They struggled to impose themselves on the match and offered Arsenal's defence precious little to worry about. The visitors' task grew exponentially harder following each goal, and any hope of a comeback evaporated once Ødegaard extended the lead after the break.

Yellow cards flew sparingly throughout the contest. Coventry's C. Yirenkyi picked up a booking in the 27th minute, while Arsenal's Gabriel Magalhães was cautioned in the 34th minute. Both teams managed the match's intensity without incident, and neither defence was seriously tested in the closing stages as Arsenal coasted to victory.

The win sends Arsenal into their campaign with genuine momentum. Coventry will need to recover quickly from a heavy opening-day defeat, while Arsenal can reflect on a comfortable afternoon that answered questions about their attacking potency. For the hosts, this was exactly the kind of performance required to set the tone for the season ahead.
