Hornkamp despide a AZ a la victoria fuera de casa ante el Fortuna, que tiene diez jugadores

Fortuna Sittard's afternoon unraveled within five minutes when Oscar Romeny was sent off, leaving the hosts to face AZ Alkmaar with a numerical disadvantage that would define the entire contest. The Sittard defence was immediately tasked with an almost impossible job, needing to contain AZ's attacking threat while operating a man down from the opening whistle.

AZ made their superiority count in the second half when Juriën Hornkamp broke the deadlock in the 58th minute, converting the pressure that had been building throughout the first half into a crucial opening goal. That strike proved decisive, with AZ adding a second before full-time to seal a Fortuna Sittard 0-2 AZ Alkmaar result that reflected their control of the match.

The second half bore little resemblance to what came before it. Defending with ten men had exhausted Fortuna's resources, and AZ's numerical advantage became increasingly suffocating as the match wore on. Hornkamp's goal came as no surprise given the trajectory of play, and once AZ found their breakthrough, the visitors pressed home their dominance with clinical efficiency.

Throughout the encounter, AZ demonstrated the kind of ruthlessness that separates winning teams from the rest. Fortuna battled gamely but lacked the personnel to mount any sustained threat, with their early dismissal effectively deciding the outcome before the game had properly begun. The away side managed the closing stages with composure, never allowing their hosts a sniff of a comeback.

The victory sends AZ climbing the table with a crucial away win, while Fortuna face searching questions about their discipline and how they recover from such a damaging start. For AZ, three points away from home is the kind of foundation-builder that separates promotion chasers from pretenders at this stage of the season.
