Dresde arrasa a Rhynern en una contundente paliza en la copa

Westfalia Rhynern's DFB Pokal campaign lasted just 90 minutes on 23 August, dismantled by a SG Dynamo Dresden side that turned the first round into a procession. The visitors arrived in dominant form and never relinquished control, leaving their hosts with no answer to the firepower arrayed against them. By the final whistle, the scoreline of Westfalia Rhynern 0-6 SG Dynamo Dresden told the story of a match that was settled early and decided with brutal efficiency.

Dresden struck within eight minutes through an own goal, H. Koch deflecting the ball into his own net to hand the visitors an immediate advantage. Momentum swung decisively in their favour when N. Hauptmann added a second in the 17th minute, and the home side found themselves chasing the game before many supporters had settled in their seats. V. Vermeij extended the lead to 3-0 in the 30th minute, then B. Bobzien made it four just four minutes later. K. Inanoglu's 39th-minute strike gave Dresden a five-goal cushion at the interval, putting the contest utterly beyond reach before half-time had even arrived.

The second half became an exercise in damage limitation for Rhynern, though even that proved impossible. R. Wagner added a sixth goal in the 54th minute, and Dresden's commanding position meant they controlled proceedings with ease thereafter. There was no revival, no spirited comeback attempt, only the slow progression toward the final whistle as the visitors' superiority was emphasised with each passing minute.

Rhynern offered little resistance as a collective unit, struggling to build any sustained pressure or create genuine scoring opportunities. Dresden moved the ball with purpose and precision, their attacking play creating space and finding shooters with regularity. The gulf in class was evident from the opening minutes and only widened as the match unfolded.

With such a comprehensive victory secured, Dresden advance to the next round knowing they have a squad capable of serious cup runs. For Westfalia Rhynern, this heavy defeat marks an early exit and a sobering reminder of the gulf between their level and top-tier competition.
