Getafe dépasse de justesse Racing Club lors de l’ouverture de la saison

Getafe made a winning start to their La Liga campaign with a narrow home victory over Real Racing Club. The hosts controlled proceedings through much of the contest and found the breakthrough before half-time to set up a tense second half in which they had to weather sustained pressure from their visitors.

The home side broke the deadlock in the first half, going ahead with the goal that would ultimately settle the match. Real Racing Club offered little attacking threat before the interval and struggled to create clear openings despite their efforts to build momentum as the match wore on.

The second half saw a shift in Real Racing Club's approach as they pushed harder to find an equaliser. Getafe, however, remained disciplined and compact in defence, limiting their opponent's opportunities to a handful of half-chances. The visitors never found the cutting edge needed to breach Getafe's backline and salvage something from the afternoon.

Both teams competed fairly throughout, though the match was marked by several cautions. J. Salinas saw yellow for Real Racing Club early on in the twelfth minute, followed by S. Sazonov's booking for Getafe in the fourteenth. A. Mantilla received a yellow card for the visitors in the sixteenth minute, while M. Hernando was cautioned in the second half as the contest grew scrappier. The accumulation of fouls shaped the rhythm without fundamentally altering either side's tactical approach.

Getafe's resolve under pressure proved the decisive factor. Real Racing Club departed empty-handed despite their late urgency, leaving Getafe with a valuable three points and a positive opening to their season. The hosts will carry this momentum forward, while Racing Club must regroup quickly ahead of their next fixture.
