San Jose's discipline issues had a minimal impact on the match outcome, as the single yellow card to Kikanović late in proceedings came with the result already decided. Minnesota's team management was considerably sharper, with the away side staying composed and executing their game plan without any cautions through 85 minutes. The visitors' professionalism stood in clear contrast to the hosts' disjointed display.
