ألتغلينيكه وفولفسبورغ يلعبان قرعة مثيرة في مباراة دوري كرة القدم البريطاني

VSG Altglienicke's giant-killing hopes hung by a thread for most of this encounter before a dramatic extra-time equaliser forced the tie beyond 90 minutes. The Berlin-based fourth-tier side matched their Bundesliga visitors blow for blow in a match that swung repeatedly, producing six goals and the kind of end-to-end urgency the cup competition thrives on. When the final whistle blew on VSG Altglienicke 3-3 VfL Wolfsburg, both teams had earned a second crack at progression, though the hosts could take genuine pride in pushing a professional rival to the brink.

Nietfeld's early strike set Altglienicke dreaming. The hosts burst from the blocks and broke the deadlock inside six minutes when Nietfeld finished cleanly to hand the minnows a dream start. Wolfsburg, slow to settle, clawed back through Maximilian Arnold's header on 55 minutes as the visitors found their rhythm after the break. The Bundesliga side then appeared to have seized control when Arnold struck again on 83 minutes, but Altglienicke refused to wilt. Saliger restored parity with eight minutes remaining, and when Ibrahimi netted deep into extra time on 109 minutes, the hosts had dragged themselves level once more. The dramatic sequence of goals left the tie entirely unresolved.

The turning point came after half-time when Wolfsburg shifted gear. At the interval the scores stood level at one each, but the visitors emerged with greater purpose and intensity, with Arnold's opener on 55 minutes signalling their determination to take control. For 20 minutes they looked like they might break the tie open, only for Altglienicke's resilience to keep them in the contest. That refusal to surrender, combined with some uncertain moments in Wolfsburg's defending down the stretch, ultimately forced the extra period.

Both teams competed with genuine commitment throughout, though Altglienicke's defensive shape occasionally buckled under Wolfsburg's possession-based approach. The hosts showed character and technical quality that belied their position in the fourth tier, pressing high when they could and hitting on the counter with some effect. Wolfsburg dominated periods of play, particularly after the break, but struggled to convert their superiority into a decisive advantage. By the closing stages, fatigue and frantic defending on both sides made for an open, chaotic affair that swung from end to end.

Discipline remained largely unaffected either team's approach despite three cautions handed out. Vinicius saw yellow for Wolfsburg on 40 minutes, while Oduah and Rieder received bookings for Altglienicke on 52 and 61 minutes respectively, but none of these interventions altered the tactical shape significantly. Both sides managed the closing periods reasonably, though the intensity of their commitment left little room for composure in possession. With the tie still level after 120 minutes, both teams will now prepare for a replay that promises further drama, with Altglienicke having announced themselves as anything but a routine cup exit and Wolfsburg needing to find a way past opponents who refuse to be intimidated.
