San Diego FC went ahead in the 11th minute when E. Achouri finished after Dreyer provided the assist. The home side doubled their lead in the 48th minute through K. Sargeant, again with Dreyer setting him up.
LA Galaxy pulled one back in the 55th minute when H. Lozano scored, but San Diego FC restored their two-goal advantage in the 70th minute. A. Pellegrino added the third goal with Dreyer picking out his third assist of the match.
The game was disrupted when J. Tverskov received a red card in the 50th minute for San Diego FC. Despite playing with ten men for the final stage, the hosts held on to secure a 3-1 victory over LA Galaxy. Ten minutes of stoppage time were added at the end of the second half.
