Al-Merrikh Khartoum Club took the lead from the penalty spot in the 39th minute when A. Bangoura converted to give the home side a 1-0 advantage at half-time. Power Dynamos could not find an equaliser after the break, and Al-Merrikh held on to secure a 1-0 victory over Power Dynamos in the opening round of qualification.
