AZ Alkmaar wins at Heerenveen after second-half surge

AZ Alkmaar took the lead early when R. Daal scored in the seventh minute, with W. Goes providing the assist. SC Heerenveen responded quickly, equalising in the 21st minute through N. Courtens, assisted by D. Vente. The home side went ahead nine minutes later when R. Meerveld scored with D. Proper setting him up.

AZ Alkmaar levelled things in the 69th minute through M. Meerdink, assisted by V. Byskov. The visitors completed their comeback in the 83rd minute when A. Oufkir scored with M. Meerdink providing the assist. SC Heerenveen could not find an equaliser in the remaining time, and AZ Alkmaar held on for a 2-3 victory away from home.
