Los Angeles FC went ahead in the 14th minute when D. Bouanga opened the scoring with S. Heung-min providing the assist. Real Salt Lake levelled four minutes later through S. Lobzhanidze.
The away side took the lead again in the 38th minute as Heung-min found the net with D. Bouanga assisting. Real Salt Lake equalised for a second time in the 75th minute when N. Caliskan scored to make it 2-2.
The sides shared a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes, with three minutes of stoppage time added at the end.
