Palermo aplasta al Mantova 5-2 en la Coppa Italia

Palermo made a bright start and went ahead in the ninth minute when Gabriele Strefezza finished after Cristian Gomes set him up. The home side extended their lead from the penalty spot in the 45th minute, with Andrea Palumbo converting to make it 2-0 at the break.

Mantova came out fighting after half-time. Francesco Ruocco pulled one back in the 52nd minute, and two minutes later they levelled through Riccardo Kouda, who was assisted by Rares Ilie. The away side's momentum proved short-lived. Jere Pohjanpalo restored Palermo's lead in the 70th minute after David Johnsen set him up. Johnsen added the fourth in the 89th minute, assisted by Jacopo Segre, before Pohjanpalo grabbed his second in the 90th minute with help from Dario Vavassori to seal a 5-2 victory over Mantova.
