Demirović hat-trick sinks Viking in Stuttgart opener

VfB Stuttgart made a quick start and went ahead in the 20th minute when E. Demirović finished after A. Stiller set him up. Viking FK equalised just two minutes later. Z. Tripić pulled one back for the visitors with an assist from H. Bjørdal, but Stuttgart soon regained control.

E. Demirović struck again in the 26th minute, this time assisted by D. Undav, to restore the home side's lead. He completed his hat-trick in the 32nd minute, again with Undav providing the assist. Despite K. Askildsen receiving a yellow card for Viking in the 42nd minute, Stuttgart held on to secure a 3-1 victory over Viking FK.
