Atlético Mineiro thrash Santos in Copa Sudamericana quarter-final

Atlético Mineiro came out attacking and went ahead in the first minute when Bernard opened the scoring with Fred providing the assist. The hosts doubled their lead on 20 minutes when Reinier found the net, again assisted by Fred.

Santos struggled to cope with Atlético Mineiro's early intensity. An own goal from Lyanco on 28 minutes made it three, and Atlético Mineiro extended their advantage to 4-0 on 41 minutes when Reinier scored his second with R. Lodi setting him up.

Santos pulled one back on 72 minutes through G. Barbosa, assisted by Arthur. T. Cuello added a fourth for Atlético Mineiro in the 90th minute, with K. Castaño providing the assist, giving the hosts a 4-2 victory over Santos.
