Yukun Hold On in Thrilling Four-Goal Thriller
Yunnan Yukun and Shenzhen Peng City served up an end-to-end spectacle in front of an engaged home crowd, with both sides hungry for the three points. The visitors struck first when T. Chow found the net in the 16th minute, but Yukun responded with purpose and took control of the contest through the opening stages.
The hosts levelled matters through C. Vinícius in the 23rd minute and then moved ahead just before the interval when O. T. Maritu added a second in the 37th minute. Yunnan looked comfortable for large spells of the second half until B. Abdusalam extended their advantage to 3-1 with a goal in the 56th minute. The midfielder's strike appeared to have settled the contest, but Shenzhen had other ideas and pushed hard in search of a way back into the match.
The closing stages turned chaotic as Shenzhen threw everything forward in search of an unlikely equaliser. With normal time seemingly up, Maritu saw yellow for a late challenge, adding to earlier cautions for T. Yi and Vinícius. The drama intensified in stoppage time when J. H. Sæter put through his own net before Wesley Moraes converted a penalty in the 90th minute to make it 4-3. Despite Shenzhen's desperate attempts to find another goal in the seven minutes of added time, Yukun held firm to claim a hard-fought victory.
The win keeps Yunnan's push up the table on track following an absorbing contest that showcased the attacking quality on display. Shenzhen will reflect on what might have been, having clawed back to within touching distance late on. Both teams delivered an entertaining afternoon for the fans, though Yukun's resilience when it mattered most proved decisive in this pulsating encounter.
