Shamrock Rovers made a strong start to their Champions League Qualification Round 2 tie against FC Ararat-Armenia on a warm evening in Dublin. The home crowd brought plenty of noise and energy, creating an intimidating atmosphere for the visiting Armenian side. From the opening exchanges, the Irish champions looked purposeful and hungry for an early breakthrough.

That breakthrough came quickly. M. Healy opened the scoring in the 11th minute, putting Shamrock Rovers in front and settling the home fans. Both sides received yellow cards as the intensity grew, with J. J. Bueno cautioned for the visitors in the 50th minute and Pico seeing yellow for Rovers in the 58th minute. The Armenian outfit created some nervous moments, but Shamrock Rovers' defence held firm to see out the victory.

The win sends Shamrock Rovers through to the next round of Europe's premier club competition and represents a significant achievement for the Irish side. Despite the nervy finish, the home victory was built on a solid first-half performance where they took their chances when they came. For FC Ararat-Armenia, the defeat ends their European campaign, but they showed character in fighting back to score an away goal.
