Forest huffed and puffed in search of a second goal that might have secured a deserved victory, but Vitória's defence held firm. The Portuguese outfit proved resilient and posed enough of an attacking threat to suggest they would not have been undone even had Forest pushed harder. Chances came and went for both sides in a frantic final quarter, yet neither goalkeeper was seriously troubled in the closing stages.

The 1-1 draw represents a reasonable workout for both teams at this stage of pre-season, though Forest will feel they left points on the table after their first-half showing. For manager Nuno Espírito Santo, there will be lessons to take from how quickly his side lost control after the break.
