Cottbus sorprende a Dresde con una impresionante victoria a domicilio.

SG Dynamo Dresden welcomed Energie Cottbus to the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion on a warm summer evening as both sides looked to build momentum ahead of the new season. The home crowd provided decent support despite the friendly nature of the fixture, and the early exchanges suggested a competitive affair between the two eastern German clubs. Both teams settled into the match quickly, though neither side had created anything of real note in the opening quarter hour.

Dresden broke the deadlock in the 31st minute when V. Vermeij found the back of the net to put the hosts in front. However, the lead lasted barely three minutes. Cottbus responded swiftly through L. Michelbrink's equalizer in the 34th minute, restoring parity and setting up an intriguing second half. The visitors had shown they would not be intimidated by playing away from home, and their quick response suggested they had plenty to offer going forward.

The second half saw Cottbus take control of proceedings. D. Pelivan struck in the 52nd minute to complete the turnaround, giving the away side a 1-2 lead that they managed to protect for the remainder of the match. Dresden pushed for a late equalizer but found Cottbus resolute in defense, unable to find the cutting edge needed to restore parity. The visitors' discipline and organization proved crucial in the closing stages as they held firm under pressure.

The defeat will be something of a disappointment for Dresden, who failed to capitalize on their early advantage. For Cottbus, the away win provided genuine encouragement heading into the competitive season, with their ability to bounce back from going behind and maintain composure under pressure both positive signs for their manager.
