Mainz thrash Hamburg with five-goal away display

Mainz made a fast start and went ahead in the 19th minute when S. Becker finished with K. Sano providing the assist. The visitors doubled their lead before half-time, P. Mwene scoring in the 41st minute with S. Becker setting him up.

Hamburg's problems worsened early in the second half. P. Tietz made it 3-0 in the 48th minute, again assisted by S. Becker. The home side offered little in response as Mainz controlled the match. Tietz added a fourth goal in the 83rd minute, this time with J. Lee providing the assist.

R. Y. Königsdörffer completed the rout in the 90th minute, with P. Mwene credited with the assist, to seal a 0-5 loss for Hamburger SV against 1. FSV Mainz 05.
