LDU edges Palmeiras in Copa Libertadores quarter-final thriller

Palmeiras took the lead in the tenth minute when M. Freitas found the net. LDU equalised five minutes later through L. Segovia, assisted by L. Rodríguez.

The match remained level until the 73rd minute, when V. Roque converted a penalty to put Palmeiras ahead. The away side looked set for victory until late drama unfolded. In the 90th minute, M. Estrada levelled the match with A. Alvarado providing the assist. Moments later, Estrada struck again to complete his brace and secure a 3-2 victory for LDU.

The game was marked by a red card for A. Ferreira of Palmeiras in the 66th minute, which left the away side a player short as the match entered its closing stages.
