L. D. L. Torre own goal gives Chicago Fire away win

Charlotte FC and Chicago Fire played out a tight match with little to separate them until the second half. S. Oregel picked up a yellow card for Chicago Fire in the 23rd minute, while Charlotte FC saw D. Diani cautioned in the 34th minute and A. Saint-Maximin in the 38th minute.

The deadlock broke in the 58th minute when L. D. L. Torre turned the ball into his own net, handing Chicago Fire a 0-1 lead. Charlotte FC pushed for an equaliser but could not find a way through. P. Biel was shown yellow in the 74th minute, and Chicago Fire's D. Poreba received a caution in the 81st minute. A. Westwood also went into the book for Charlotte FC in the 82nd minute. With seven minutes of stoppage time added, Charlotte FC FC could not break down their visitors' defence. Chicago Fire held on for a 0-1 victory away at Charlotte FC.
