Maldini's second-half goal gives Cagliari away win

Udinese dominated possession in the opening stages but found little rhythm in the final third. N. Zaniolo was cautioned early for Udinese in the fourth minute, while J. Karlström picked up a yellow card in the 22nd minute as the home side struggled to create clear chances.

Cagliari broke the deadlock in the 54th minute when D. Maldini scored to put the visitors ahead. Udinese pressed for an equaliser in the closing stages but could not find a way past Cagliari's defence. The away side held firm through three minutes of stoppage time to take the three points back home.
