Al-Ettifaq edges past Abha with late own goal

Abha and Al-Ettifaq played out a closely contested match that remained goalless through most of the second half. The hosts picked up a pair of yellow cards early on as F. Al-Ghamdi was cautioned in the 29th minute and Al-Ettifaq's O. Duda followed a minute later. M. Al-Zaid received a yellow for Abha in the 53rd minute.

The breakthrough came late in the game when D. Léon turned the ball into his own net in the 80th minute, giving Al-Ettifaq the lead. A. Hindi was shown a yellow card for Abha in the 79th minute as the home side pushed for an equaliser, but Al-Ettifaq held on to secure a 0-1 victory away from home.
